Two Weeks, Part 4

Feb 16 to 28

Still largely in Vienna. But I did get a chance to blip over to Budapest on a Saturday afternoon for one night.

Budapest felt more “lived in”…like history is still happening there. Which is one of those je ne sais quoi things. Sometimes you connect (or don’t connect) with a place in a way that is hard to describe. I don’t know if I quite connected with Vienna? But I saw some awesome churches, ate wonderful food, and had a good time overall.

On the camera front, the Nikon Zf worked beautifully in Europe. I carried it with the 50 APO-Lanthar and it’s did everything without complaint. Looking back on these photos the 50mm does feel a bit cramped - I hardly have any “establishing” shots - so maybe for my next European capital I go with a 28mm as well.

In any case, now that I’m back home I’ve gone from playing tourist to “just” carrying a camera out and about. We’re about to get into the spring season in the PNW! And hopefully some hikes and bike rides and camping.
