Two Weeks, Part 10
May 16 to 31
This has felt like a very long month. Five full weekends.
A few weekends ago we took our RV out to the Sol Duc resort on the Olympic peninsula. We didn’t end up actually going to the resort hot springy bit; we really just wanted to get out of town and touch some grass so we did that and between hikes we read our books and took it easy.

The old growth forests really never do get old.
The next weekend we had family in the area - my mom and stepdad - so we did a little bit of meandering in the Tacoma area then took them up to Vancouver BC for the weekend. I took the X100VI; it’s exactly perfect for this kind of trip. I made a point to try and get something more interesting than “generic family travel photo” but if I’m honest I wasn’t super focused on getting pictures.

Vancouver is great, it’s nice to see things like functional (also: ubiquitous) public transportation in a major city. Feels like Europe.
Back in Tacoma, summer is in the air. We get on with our PNW-flavored life.

About 18 months ago I sold my digital Leica - an M10-R that I bought new - in favor of my MP. I regret selling the M10-R, I had taken that thing all over the world, but sometimes you just have to let things go. I still have a small mountain of M glass though, and in lieu of I’ve been using a Nikon Zf with an adapter (samples)…but yeah, of course I’ve been sniffing around at another digital M camera. We’ll see what happens. I’ve found that my interest in buying gear is directly correlated with how much YouTube I watch and that probably has something to do with it.
In the meantime, having a lot of fun in Fuji GFX land. Even when the light is, as they say, mid.
