Two Weeks, Part 1
Jan 1 to 15
I’m trying to be a little less precious about what goes on the blog. I frequently wish I had written more, recorded more, and remembered more. Maybe treating it a little more like a journal. More life.

We flew in and out of Kansas City to see family for the holiday. After a few days back at home I took the Amtrak up to Vancouver BC - a significantly more pleasant experience than driving or flying - just to walk around and see the sights. I sat at the cathedral and watched the Canadian faithful recite Nones and it was the most in touch I’ve felt with God in a long time. I wasn’t expecting it.

We were hit with heavier than usual rain and fog and the weather people gave it some ridiculous name for clicks. Our roof gutters got clogged. I sat at Doyle’s a lot. It’s at its best when it’s rainy outside and quiet inside. I also feel God in this place, as silly as that sounds.

Finally, I was able to get the baseline done on a new-to-us ‘83 Mercedes 300d. All the fluids, air filter, valve adjustment, various bits and bobs. Still need to install a working radio and weld up a nut on the stripped out rear diff drain bolt. Less worried about that because the rear end was recently redone.

Not a bad first few weeks.
