A Long Lens
Maybe a year ago I picked up a Leica 135mm APO-Telyt-M. It was in rough shape but the glass was clean so I sent it off to get the barrel repaired and now I have a really nice 135mm for less than a third of the price it was new. I’m not mad.
In any case, I took it out for a short walk on a foggy morning. It’s a little cumbersome (and difficult to shoot below 1/500s) but I like the change in perspective.

I’ve been experimenting with longer focal lengths as a means to simplify a bit. Ralph Gibson does it so well - it’s almost like abstract paintings. I just end up taking detail shots and that gets boring fast. Gotta keep trying.
